About the Job

The Pricing team at TaskRabbit strives to unlock growth by delivering an affordable service to our clients while helping Taskers meet their financial goals. You will get to work on our overarching pricing structure, Tasker pricing guidance, promotional capabilities, and marketplace dynamics to shape one of the most critical drivers of our business.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Pricing team, you'll be one of the leaders of our team helping to mentor other engineers, proposing creative and scalable solutions, and de-tangling the complex into the simple. Our engineering team uses Ruby on Rails on the backend, React.js on the web frontend and React Native for our mobile applications. We’re looking for people who are comfortable and interested in working with a little bit of everything.

You will be:

  • Collaborating with engineering, data, design, and product management to conceptualize new infrastructural features and improvements for our client-facing code
  • Contribute to our technical roadmap of ongoing improvements, enhancements and updates
  • Participate in code reviews, listening to feedback and commenting on other approaches
  • Invest in the documentation of best practices and coding patterns
  • Help solve debugging, testability, and deployability problems
  • Collaborate across teams to promote consistency
  • Improve stability and consistency of existing and new backend & frontend code

You should have:

  • 5-10 years of experience, comfortable working independently
  • 2+ years professional experience developing with Ruby on Rails
  • 1+ years developing with React.js or similar js frameworks
  • Experience building API-driven applications or endpoints
  • Familiar with automated testing and JS build and packaging systems like Jest, Cypress, and Webpack
  • Understand how to organize code across the stack: what belongs in the frontend, what belongs in the backend
  • A strong advocate of clean code
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

It would be a plus if you have:

*Enjoy helping organize and scope high priority projects and plans to keep us moving forward *Experience with a/b testing frameworks such as Optimizely *A data-driven approach to development
