Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Management: You can effectively explain and present the results of your team’s work in a well-structured way. Plan and schedule your own work and actively filter and prioritize feedback on your own (and with your team). You solicit feedback from other designers as a tool for teaching different methods and benefits of good practice, and can supervise other people in this competency.
  • Collaboration: You have experience cultivating a team with strong interpersonal relationships. You know how to manage others; how to seek input and provide recommendations to facilitate better collaboration.
  • Workshop and Usability Testing Facilitation: You can supervise others in identifying the right methods and tools for workshop facilitation. You can effectively synthesize insights and push participants toward workshop and testing goals. You can exhibit effective decision making and action planning.
  • Leadership and Advocacy: You can competently help direct reports and other team members grow and develop new skills. You are capable of evaluating
  • processes and making recommendations to design and product leadership when something can be improved.
  • Business Strategy: You can competently communicate Pager’s business strategy to others. You take an active leadership role in cross-discipline initiatives, bringing a design voice to the conversation and building trust between the design team and other disciplines.
  • Design Thinking: You exemplify and take responsibility for maintaining and improving our defined design process. You show good judgment and flexibility in applying design thinking to your work, moving fluidly between each stage as needed. You leverage the process to educate your teams and fellow designers in how best to approach problems, solicit feedback, and drive for impactful outcomes.
  • Visual Design: You can demonstrate, articulate, and teach an understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy. You give strong design direction to other designers on the team, encouraging creative use of the design principles and existing visual frameworks to produce designs and, where appropriate, new styles and patterns that are visually cohesive with the rest of our digital products. You maintain, suggest, and advocate for evolutions of our design principles and existing style guides with a holistic consideration for all of our products.
  • Interaction Design: You can demonstrate, articulate, and teach others an understanding of established and evolving standards—as well as best practices for—human-computer interactions and how to express them through our design language. You constantly work toward irreducible complexities; Review and revise to simplify the experience. You consistently consider the holistic user experience, potential states (errors, successes, dead ends) and product overlaps in your own and others' work.
  • Prototyping: You balance existing visual and UX patterns with platform-specific patterns to ensure a consistent, intuitive experience. You can identify and flag instances where existing patterns break down in your own work, as well as work done by other designers across all of our products. When diverging from established patterns, you can identify, document, and socialize new patterns amongst the design team, and assist and educate fellow designers in doing the same. You can identify and target users from a test audience and expertly craft usability sessions that focus on qualitative and quantitative measures of feedback.
  • Industry Expertise: You have a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, including regulatory requirements and common patient and provider needs and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • You have 8+ years’ experience in product design leading design initiatives in cross-functional teams; collaborating with other designers, UX researchers, product managers, and engineers. Experience with team or individual management or mentorship is a plus.
  • You have at least 3 years’ experience designing digital products in the healthcare industry; Preferred experience with care delivery tools like EMRs, care planning, population health management, or virtual care navigation products.
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant design discipline (graphic design, interaction design, HCI, user experience design), or possess equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with AI or designing for conversational chatbot experiences is a plus.
  • Deep experience with user research and usability testing.
  • Must have experience working in Figma.
  • Experience building and managing design systems
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. You can solve complex design problems and demonstrate and explain your decisions.
  • Proven ability to empathize with and build solutions for users.
  • You can proactively identify opportunities to help influence the product vision and roadmap.
  • You are a champion of user-centered design and have a track record of demonstrating high user-centric judgment in your day-to-day design decisions and collaboration.
  • You evangelize iterative design processes with cross-functional teams.
  • You lead with inclusiveness, ensuring that diverse perspectives are not only represented but celebrated

For Colorado, Nevada, and New York-based employment: In accordance with the Pay Transparency laws the pay range for this position is $145,000 to $160,000. The compensation package may include stock options, plus a range of medical, dental, vision, financial, generous PTO, stipends for professional development, and wellness benefits. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. The range listed only applies to Colorado, Nevada, and New York.
